Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally known as Andra day, is an American R&B musician and singer. She has won the Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are among her many awards she's received. In addition, she was selected for the Academy Award. Andra Day is an extremely skilled and powerful performer. She's not an old-fashioned R&B professional, but her roots in gospel jazz as well as the blues is apparent and translates to today's music. Her debut single Cheers to Fall (2015) was a top hit on the R&B/hiphop charts, and her contributions to Marshall (2017) earned her a Grammy Award as well as an Academy Award. Growing up in San Diego and surrounding areas She began singing at church, and then enrolled in The School of Creative and Performing Arts. As she graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts, Day started to focus her attention on contemporary R&B and pop, but she soon discovered her jazz-inspired soul influences were what she was drawn to. Kai Millard Morris recorded a show of Day in the following year, then later gifted her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's material. Motown legend Adrian Gurvitz was introduced to Day by the Motown legend. Day joined forces with Gurvitz's Buskin label as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, built a following on YouTube before signing by Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut song Forever Mine. DJs quickly played it in radio. Her debut album, Cheers to The Fall (2015) was produced by the singer Adrian Gurvitz. She signed with Warner Bros. Records. Album included single Rise up and was chosen as a anthem for the social justice movement across the globe. Day received two Grammy nominations, one of which was for Best R&B Album. The United States Versus Billie Holiday was her second album, released in 2019 and it was a concept album about the life of Billie Holiday. The same year, she was a part-time actress in a biopic of Holiday's life The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Matichak, a American actress. She started her career on TV series like Orange Is the New Black, 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her film debut was in the role of Allyson in the series of horror Halloween. Andi Mattichak was born May 3, 1994, in Framingham Mass.
