Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback), her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. However, her parents didn't want her to pursue acting until she became older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry claims she never wanted to become an actor during high school but decided to take up playing as a way to make friends at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, moved in New York in search of television roles. Her small part was on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness brought her back to California to find theater work. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother in The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC political drama Scandal, starring her dad. The character she played was an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The part was offered by audition despite the fact that she has a family tie to the role.
